I am still in the race to reach the goal of acquiring my BSN. I started spring semester last Monday. It is great to be back in class with the wonderful members of my cohort and to be in class with some very caring professors who took the time to know us individually. I am very excited because I can see the finish line and I have made a decision to work even harder this semester. I am a very hard worker who try to do my best at whatever my hands find to do; however, I am willing to squeeze some more study time in my schedule this semester.
With the help of God and the people that support me I will make it to the finish line. I really want this degree and I am willing to work even harder for it. I know that my cohorts and I will accomplish this goal that we have set for ourselves because we have been working hard to reach this far and we will continue to work to the best of our abilities until we are successful.
What are you working on at this time? Whatever you are working on, I pray that you will stay in the race until you are successful. Your goals are possible. Just keep on working to the best of your capabilities and never give up and you will reach the finish line.
I pray that you my readers, the members of my cohort, the professors who are studying, and I will reap the fruit of our labor, and when that day comes when our goals are fulfilled we will remember to continue to have an attitude of thankfulness. May God bless and keep you always.

Spending Christmas with Family
This Christmas Eve and Day was much happier in our home this year because our daughter came home from college for winter break. As usual it is such a blessing to have her home. I was able to plan better for this Holiday and to work on my plans because I have a month off from college. Also, I was able to give away my Christmas Eve work schedule to a coworker.
On Christmas Eve my family and I went to church and enjoyed the Christmas story portrayed in a play titled the Christmas Pageant. My daughter participated in the program at church by singing two songs. She sang well as usual. The program was well organized and the participants used their talents well.
After church it was back at our house to have lunch with my family which included my in-laws. We had a wonderful time talking and eating some good food. One of my sister-in laws stayed overnight and we watched movies and talked throughout the night.
On Christmas Day we had an early dinner because I worked the evening shift. I would have liked to have this day off also but it is hard to find someone who is willing to work on Christmas Day for another person when they are not scheduled to work. Overall, I am very happy and satisfied with how I spent my Christmas Holiday!!!
I hope for you my readers that you had a memorable time this Holiday. I wish for you and yours a safe, peaceful. and prosperous Holiday Season and pray that you will experience multiple blessings in your life.
Be blessed,
Joy

During this Holiday Season Give Gifts that Really Matters
During this Holiday Season many of us have bought gifts or may still be buying gifts for our families and friends. For many of us the intention of gift giving is very thoughtful; however, how many times have we stopped to think about what people really need during this time. This time of year can be very lonely for some people and all they may need is our presence. A listening ear or a hug may help someone feel a sense of worthiness and acceptance. Therefore, take some time out to think about what people really need during this season and try to meet those needs. Here is a list of some gifts that may really matter:
Have an enjoyable and safe Holiday.
Be blessed,
Joy
- Visit the shut-ins and talk or read to them.
- Clean someone's house for the holiday.
- Cook a meal for a family who cannot afford a meal.
- Send a catered meal to a family who is facing difficult challenges.
- Tell someone that you love and care for them.
- Call that person that you have not spoken to in a long time.
- Sit and hold the hand of someone who is dying.
- Use your talent in music or poetry to bless someone.
- Write a letter of forgiveness to someone who have hurt you.
- Be present when talking to people.
- Pray with someone.
Have an enjoyable and safe Holiday.

It is Possible
My Dear Readers,
It is about 2:45 AM and I am thinking about you. I am wondering what are your thoughts as you come closer to the end of another year. Will you consider 2011 a successful year? What about your goals, did you achieve them? Did you have a plan for your goal/s, and did you work on that plan? Whatever your answers are to the aforementioned questions it is not too late to make a fresh start or to complete what you began.
If you have accomplished your goal/s for 2011, I would like to congratulate you for your accomplishment/s. If you were not successful with your goals it is now time to look back and find the lesson/s the events of working on your goal/s have taught you. Once you have learned your lesson and you know that your goals are right for you, I want to encourage you to try again. And for those of you who went through the year without a goal/plan I am encouraging you that it is not too late to start working on a goal.
It is possible to achieve the goals that are right for your life. You must believe that your goals are achievable. You must be willing to work hard and smart. Defeat should not be an option for you. Surround yourself with people who believe that you can make your dreams become reality. Learn from your mistakes and keep on working until you are successful.
I wish you all the best my friends as you work to achieve your goals.
Be blessed,
Joy

The Ups and Downs of Fall Semester
I am very thankful to God for all the help that He had given me throughout fall semester. I am also thankful for my family, friends, classmates, teachers, and co-workers who supported me during this semester. I could not have made it without the help of God and my support system. During this semester I learned many new information about healthcare in areas such as research, mental health, and geriatrics; nevertheless, this semester was the most challenging semester I have ever experienced in my life.
There were times in this semester when I had to cry because I did not know how I could read about 1,000 pages in three weeks for one class. I had three classes and one class had four areas and three different professors. At times the task ahead seemed impossible and I had to cry out to God for help, and He heard my cry and helped me to come out successful in this semester. There were times when I did not feel the strength to attend school and work, but with the help of God I kept going. There were many sleepless nights that I spent studying and working on assignments, and with the help of God I am still standing and looking forward to spring semester, 2012.
Despite the fact that fall semester was very challenging for me I am very appreciative of the opportunity that I have to work on completing my BSN. I would not want to be working on anything else at this time. So, at this time I say thank you Jesus for helping me to have a successful semester and thank you my support system for always being there for me when I need you most.
Therefore, my friends if you have the desire to work on a project or go back to school I would encourage you to seek God's help and start working on your goal/s. I cannot tell you that it will be easy to achieve your goal/s, but I can tell you that it is possible to achieve your goal/s. May God bless you as you work on the desires of your heart.
Be blessed,
Joy

Experiencing the Opposite of what I Planned for my Day
I had planned to attend church this morning and to have a wonderful time worshiping God and fellowshipping with my church brothers and sisters. However, I did not plan to have a headache in half of my head and face. Consequently, I was unable to attend church and all my plans for church had to be aborted. Therefore, I tried to make the best of my situation. With the headache I prayed, I read a little, I listened to a few gospel music, and now I am writing. Although, I did not get to do what I planned, I will not let this headache keep me down. I am also believing God for my healing. I will rejoice in the God of my salvation because I have everything to be thankful for. I have life, a family, and good friends. So, I just want to praise God because He is wonderful, good, kind, merciful, my hiding place, a friend in the time of trouble, my savior, my king, my protector, my great physician, and my everything. He is the Great I Am!
Take care until next time. May God bless you abundantly!
I hope you are blessed by listening to this song: I Found the Answer Down on My Knees, by Sandra Brooks.
